Note, this following information is not going to stop the project from being worked on and developed for the time being.
However, it has cost us some would be volunteers working with the Engine we are using.
So. before watching this video be aware of the following.
Current change in plans:
Once the project is completed pending support and assistance, plans will be considered for transporting the project to a different engine.
We will be looking to not require installation of the finished game on your computer and making it browser based instead. In other words, just like you dont have to install Facebook to use Facebook, plans will be to set up the game and its website to function the same way.
Funding needed will be to make these changes and secure and establish reliable servers and modification of Website and its hosting.
We will not publish on such as Steam nor publish through anything Unity offers because of these issues.
The game will be finished first in the Unity Engine version 2021.3.29f1 and will not be using any other later or "newer versions."
In game purchasing such as for coin recharges or renewal of passes when those functions are working properly WILL NOT use Unity's r"in game app" resources.
Because these changes by Unity's Corporate goons including plans to track "installs" by end users is also a reason for these planned changes.
How this has adversely effected us in securing volunteer developers:
Would be volunteers are fed up with Unity's constant issues due largely to Executive changes and has caused them to start searching for and using alternative/different engine.
This means they are having to adapt their knowledge base and transfering their projects, skill sets and resources elsewhere and will discontinue using Unity.
Several key Project Funding resources have put a hault on supporting or funding projects being created in the Unity Game Engine currently.
Being on a fixed income I cannot fund anything as that income source does not allow such for something like this as its considered an "investment" regardless if it sees any returns or not.
This has slowed the project down significantly as a result of so many amandoning ship.
This project will not be transferred to another engine till it is completed in the current one and will be refactored as necessary as we look towards an alternative OpenSource Engine that will meet the needs for this current as well as any other future projects.
We defiantly need your help and collective support so we do not end up with another failure to deliver on goals. To be blunt, I do give a shit. I hope you do as well.
Thank you.
