Why the name change? The original intended name was from the outset intended to be Cyberathia. However, one of the key issues was that the url https://www.cyberathia.com had already been taken and held for years by someone else. When I sought to find out how much the one who held it was selling it for ($500,000 USD as a matter of fact), there was certainly no way I could afford it. So i put it on my watch list while researching other things I would need to also have in place.
After a couple of years I went back to see if it was available. At that time the cost was decreased to $50,000. I waited another year and it came down to $20,000. Frustrated by this still high cost I gave a shot at an alternative spelling based on its phonetics, entered the search and sought the alternative spelling of https://www.syberathia.com.
Being clear and at the time able to be picked up for only $5.00 with the usual fees and able to be maintained year by year for as low as $15.00 I grabbed it and went forward with licensing everything as Sybirathia and Sybirathia, LLC. Over the last couple of years it became increasingly apparent that many had a hard time pronouncing it even though the pronunciation is the same.
Everything seemed to be heading the right direction and then the insanity of the Pandemic occurred, opportunities began being cut off, and established companies more or less knocked out anyone's opportunities to get going. Still I pushed through. It was, however, either because of all this or some other reason in 2022 I got a notice in my email that https://www.cyberathia.com was now open free and clear. I even did a wide search to see if there was any other business that used the name and to my relief there wasn't. I grabbed it along with the included taxes for just $17.00.
Since then I debated whether or not to change the name of everything to the original intended name or not. However, this changed as more and more traffic began to direct to https://www.cyberathia.com then it ever did with https://www.syberathia.com despite all my efforts to get the name out there. In other words, I made no effort to make known or put in the same areas https://www.cyberathia.com yet it was and still is receiving far more traffic on a regular basis. It only makes sense then to start using it more directly and proactively.
Its still going to cost a lot to get everything changed over, including the company name and registrations from the previous to this present one, and I still have about 8 months to do so for the Sybirathia spelling. It will, however cost a few hundred dollars to make that happen and since everything has come out of my own pocket solely I have had to do so on a really tight and limited budget, while also trying to maintain other common personal expenses like medical, rent, utilities, phone, and internet, as well as tighten down on food purchases and cancellation of television. I have also had to cut way, way back on use of electricity so often have had to keep my lights, heat, and Air Conditioning off. So it’s definitely been a struggle on that end.
In any case, some have suggested I replace the option for support with a donation button instead and so I have included that at the top of the website page next to the login/sign up for would be members to this new updated site, and have also cut back on member page services to also reduce costs overall. That being said if you are motivated to donate anything so I can maintain the site, url costs, personal expenses and focus on updating the licensing and fees, along with focusing on doing more coding and seeking assistance to overcome the hurdles I have encountered, know that you and your support is truly appreciated.
