I am currently working on creating a Tutorial Library from independent content creators to teach others how to create games and features within the Unity Game Engine. However, you should note that they are not directly involved in the Cyberathia project.
Why list them? It’s simple.
Many of you from our Facebook page have expressed interest in helping with the development side of things, but not sure where to start. Some of you have been trying but have run into some hiccups along the way as you are learning so you can volunteer your work for this project.
Do you have permission from them? Good question!
The ones I am listing in this upcoming library to be added to this website are those who I have personally sought out permission from via their YouTube videos and have waited for a Yes, no or go for it response. Obviously if they say yes or go for it, then its permission.
If I receive a “No, or not at this time” then I do not and will not add their videos or links to the Tutorials Page for our community. I ask you show these independent project developers the same respect and do not submit anything in the forums or anywhere else on this site without clear permission from them as well as myself.
After all, we want this to be a helpful and mutually supportive community that is active as well as proactive, and also keeping the “not so friendly” types out of the mix. That is why I have been seeking permission and not asking our immediate members to help with this. Let me deal with those who have rude or salty responses as my goal is to keep things professional and civil.
Besides, I keep a separate list of those less friendly types in my personal notes so you don’t have to deal with needless hostilities as a new or moderate volunteer. In addition, some may just be having a bad day or something else going on so there is no good that comes from snapping back at them either.
This is all for your benefit as well, whether you are wanting to volunteer to help in the creation and realization of Cyberathia’s overall community and the Social 3D environment and World Builder project. It’s to help you and I learn all we can to make this a reality and a new virtual space we can truly call home and stay connected when other options are just less than satisfactory for many reasons,.
As always, stay posted, keep learning and you all truly appreciated.
